A Desert Mirage
An afternoon round in Royal Hills Golf and Country Club, Saudi Arabia
A flight to Jeddah. A tight business schedule. And 165 km standing between us and the Royal Greens Golf Club.
When one of the working days ended earlier than initially scheduled, there was no holding back. A driver was leased, laser beamed us to King Abdullah Economic City, stood by for the round and drove us back just in time for dinner. Tip well earned.
The temperature was 35 degrees Celsius on early March, a pleasant breeze was flowing from the Red Sea, the conditioning of the turf was extraterrestrial (until our first divot we almost questioned if this might be some kind of 3D-printed turf) and we nearly had the course to ourselves.
During winter, every Thursday night the course is fully lit by floodlights to offer night golf.
Target locked for our next visit.-
