A Sunday with Kendrick Nunn

The Euroleague superstar accepts Golf Greece’s invitation and suspends ankle-breaker buzzer-beaters for an afternoon, in favor of baby draws that vanish into thin air.

In our former discussions following a Panathinaikos BC match day, Kendrick Nunn had mentioned he’d been playing golf recreationally for two years, mostly during the off-season. In golfing terms, this timeframe typically translates to players of high handicap that still struggle with severe mishits. The golf swing is widely regarded as one of the most complicated and challenging motion to orchestrate and establish.

Bearing that in mind, both his swing and the resulting ball trajectories were surprisingly good. Those who have witnessed Charles Barkley’s infamous swing (once you do, it’s hard to unsee it) can appreciate how difficult it is to achieve a well-coordinated motion—even for athletes with access to top-tier coaching.

As we drove back towards the clubhouse with Kendrick on the shotgun seat, we reflected on how, in some cases, sporting ability seems to transcend ball-sports boundaries.

In cases of straight-up ballers, that is.-
